    In the course of work, there are many requirements that mold components processing need to meet. These requirements are as follows:
    1.Corrosion resistance of mold components
    In mold components processing, Some mold components, such as plastic mold components, will decompose strong erosion gas such as HCI, HF and so on after heating, because there are chemical elements of chlorine and fluorine in the plastic. Those gas will erode the  cavity surface of mold components, which will increase the surface roughness and exacerbate the wear and failure rate.
    2.Abrasive resistance  
    In the plastic deformation of mold components cavity, the blank flow and slide along the cavity surface, making the cavity surface and blank produce severe friction, which leads to mold components failure due to wear and tear. So the abrasive resistance of materials is one of the most basic and important performances of mold components. Hardness is the main factor influencing the abrasion resistance.
    3.Obdurability
    The working conditions of most mold components machining are very bad. Some often bear the large impact load, which can lead to brittle fracture. To prevent mold components  suddenly brittle fracture at work, mold components must have high strength and toughness. The obdurability of mold components mainly depends on the carbon content, grain size and organization of materials.
    4.High-temperature performance
    To ensure the mold components have high hardness and strength in the working temperature, the materials of them should have high stability of Resistance to tempering.
    5.Fatigue fracture properties
    When mold components processing, under the long-term effects of cyclic stress, it often leads to fatigue fracture. Its forms include small energy repeated impact fatigue fracture, the tensile fatigue fracture, contact fatigue fracture and bending fatigue fracture.
