The lapping method of mold components has following several kinds.
Plane lapping. Plane lapping is the most commonly used method of processing. It is lapping on a flat plate.
Spherical surface and circular arc surface lapping. For some precision instruments and precision mechanical parts, this lapping method is used when the machining accuracy of spherical or circular arc surface is high.
Column surface lapping. There are two kinds of methods. One is the whole lapping; another is adjustable lapping. Shaft parts with high precision often use this lapping method.
Inner hole lapping. Two methods of inner hole lapping. One is manual operation, the other is a machine operation. It is divided into the whole lapping and adjustable lapping. The whole lapping is often used in the inner hole with high finish.
Thread and thread ring gauge lapping. In order to improve the precision and finish of the screw thread, after turning or grinding, it is necessary to lapping again.
Non-metallic abrasive (graphite). Water is commonly used in the use of graphite grinding lubricant, so glass face plate is often used in the plate lapping (Stick a layer of glass on the surface of the plate and then process it.).
Plane polishing. For the precision requirements of the
mold components is not high, can be polished after lapping. For the parts with high precision, it can get very good finish and high precision by using the sand press plate lapping.
