Introduction of Plastic Mold Components Materials

As far as I know, a lot of friends are not very clear about plastic mold components materials. Today, I will introduce several kinds of plastic mold components materials. At present, according to steel properties and the heat treatment condition, the types of steel used for plastic mold components can be mainly divided into five kinds.
1.Preliminary hard type
The so-called pre-hardened steel refers to the steel that has been provided the heat treatment in advance before supply. And make it reach the mold using hardness. The characteristics of this kind of steel is that it can directly conduct form turning, drilling, milling, engraving, fine file processing under the state of 30 ~ 40 HRC hardness. It can be directly used after finishing, which completely avoid the influence of heat treatment deformation, and ensure the precision of mold manufacturing.
2.Type of carburization
Carburizing type plastic mold components used steel is mainly used for cold extrusion forming plastic mold. This kind of steel requires low or ultra-low carbon content.
3.Hardening type
Commonly used hardening type plastic mold components materials steel are: carbon tool steel (such as T7A, T8A), low alloy cold die steel (e.g., 9 sicr, 9 mn2v, CrWMn steel, GCr15, 7 crsimnmov steel), Cr12 steel (e.g., Cr12MoV steel), high speed steel (such as steel W6Mo5Cr4V2), steel matrix, and some hot work die steel, etc.
4.Age hardening type
The common characteristics of this kind of steel is low carbon content and high degree of alloy.
5.hardening and tempering type
Through the steel 460 ~ 480 ℃ after aging treatment, it can obtain better comprehensive mechanical properties.
